Two crescents are hand cut from brass sheet and then hammered with various circular tools for texture. They are then fired for the darker brass color. (These earrings are not bright and shinny) A herkimer diamond hangs from each crescent. Everything hangs from gold fill ear wires.
Please note each shape is is hand cut and textured, please allow for variations from the pictures. Each one is made to order and will be unique. Herkimers are between .25 and .5 inches. Each one is different and will not be exactly as shown
Herkimer diamonds are not actually diamonds, but are double-terminated quartz crystals of exceptional clarity (water-clear) discovered in and Herkimer County, New York. The "diamond" in their name is due to both their clarity and natural faceting.
